I decided that the start of a new year was a perfect time to start a blog. I always enjoy reading blogs, and have had good intentions to begin one of my own for about five years. So I am seizing the opportunity to start fresh at the start of a new year. Mostly because I'm OCD and if I didn't do it now, I'd probably not find a suitable time, in my mind, to start one again until 2013. So 2012 it is.
If you know me very well, you probably know that I would not be considered the writer in our family because my husband LOVES to write. He is passionate about it. And extremely creative. And a perfectionist with words. And he has a Master's in Communication, summa cum laude, to prove it.
I, on the other hand, enjoy writing, but am not creative. I am a very literal person and find it difficult to think outside of what is reality. I don't love fictional story telling or mystery, just plain, simple everyday life stories. So here on my blog, it will be just that. A little bit of shared life...not because I think my life is interesting or that people are dying to know more about me or my family. But simply because I want to be able to have a concrete way to look back on the memories of my life and this is a simple way to do that.
I am excited, hopeful, filled with anticipation, trusting, anxious (the list could go on) for 2012. I can look back on 2011 with much to be thankful for, but at the same time declare, good riddance! I know God's timing is perfect, and I realize that my finite mind is not to be trusted, but it has been a hard year to understand and I'm anticipating a year from now being able to look back and see the big picture and proclaiming His faithfulness and perfect plan and timing. I am excited to share the ups and downs, joys and sorrows, and triumphs and tragedies of the coming year.
So long 2011, hello 2012!
